Ability to create mapped printers as per Terminal Works

Remote Access Feature Request

Ability to create defined local printers on server which are mapped locally

eg EPOS mapped to local slip printer, LABEL mapped to local label printer.

It may be possible to do this already we just haven’t discovered how

    Hello, I think the new virtual printer v2, which has been implemented for several versions now, would be suitable for your case. Printer names are passed through here.

      Hi, We may have been doing something wrong but we failed to create a single printer name eg EPOS for multiple users. If it is possible we will try again

        Just tried and printer name appears to have to be unique per user session

        What we use currently provides a single named printer that we can set for all users within the server based application.

        We’d much rather use TSPlus for the complete solution as we’ve been using the product for many many trouble free years

          Hello,
          The requirement of having the same printer name for every session may be achieved if the printer is available from the network for both clients and Remote Access server. Printers available through RDP connections will be named differently (e.g. “Printer name (redirected X)” for standard Windows redirections or Printer name DOMAIN\Username for Virtual Printer v2, as the printer name must be unique.
          Would sharing the printer over the network a viable solution for your case ? After that, it is quite possible to remove all redirected printers from RDP connections.

            Server is located our data centre printer at client store, so not an option. Stuck with Terminal works.

              Hello,
              Our printing solution Universal Printer uses one printer which can redirect to one or several local printers depending on the user. Would that solution better suit your need than Virtual Printer?
