Save and Restore Window Position for Folder Applications in Floating Panel

Remote Access Feature Request

When opening a folder from the Floating Panel, a window appears showing the applications inside that folder. Currently, the system does not remember the window position or size when the window is closed.

It would be useful if the system could store the last window position and dimensions and restore them when the folder is opened again.

Additionally, if the saved position is outside the visible screen area (for example when using a smaller monitor or different resolution), the window should automatically reposition itself so that it remains visible on the screen.

This would improve usability and provide a more consistent user experience when working with Floating Panel folders.

    Hello Ahmed,
    Did you ever encounter a case where the window or a part of it was out of the screen?
    Do you think the positioning issue could be resolved if we provide predifined position layout for applications? (center/docked on the right/left, …)

      I think predefined positions like center or docked could definitely help in some cases. However, in our setup we usually work with multiple monitors and different resolutions, so the main issue is not just where the window opens, but also which screen it opens on and how it is sized.

      Right now, we often have to move and resize the window manually each time, especially when it opens on the wrong screen or with an unsuitable size.

      What would really help in our case is if the system could remember the last window position and size, and reopen it on the same screen. It would also be useful if the window could automatically adjust itself if the previous position is no longer visible or if the resolution has changed.

      Predefined layouts could still be a nice option, but they probably wouldn’t fully solve the issue for our workflow.
